Billing
How buying it works
How is DocuSanad billed?
Through Microsoft. The app itself is free to install from AppSource; seats are purchased against a linked subscription, and Microsoft bills you on your existing Microsoft invoice.
Who assigns licences to people?
An administrator, in the Microsoft 365 admin centre — the same place you assign every other licence. DocuSanad reads that assignment to decide what each person sees.
What happens to someone without a seat?
They get the Free tier. They can still browse, filter and upload to a governed library; the paid capabilities are simply not shown.
What if our subscription lapses?
You drop to Free, not to nothing. Your documents, metadata and audit history stay exactly where they are — in your own tenant — and remain fully accessible.
Do we need Microsoft E5?
No, and that is rather the point. DocuSanad is built for organisations on Business Premium or E3 who cannot justify the E5 jump for the compliance capabilities they need.
Are there extra costs on Enterprise Plus?
Yes, and they are yours rather than ours. AI classification runs on Azure resources you own, so Microsoft bills you directly for that usage. We never mark it up because it never touches us.
